OK, you've just got your copy of Custom Kingdom's That Chopper Spirit but you're not sure what you can do with it.
At the top of the page is a menu bar with different options.
File let's you take any picture you may have a fondness for and print off a copy for your garage wall. That is a present from me but I may lock that on future issues. Just right click for this option.
Edit gives you the option of finding certain pictures or video. But until you've been through once you won't really know what you want to look for.
View let's you change the way you look at the CD-Zine.
Flip to is interesting as it can take you anywhere. Just be warned that it is only anywhere in the CD-Zine. You won't find Captain Kirk sitting at the next table.
Index is a little bit of a misnomer for the first issue as it just takes you to the web link, so you end up back here. Issue two will have an actual index that links to the articles. Clever huh?
Bookmarks are useful as they can be placed anywhere so you can get back to it later. You can also change the type of bookmark within reason so you can choose something you like.
Tools is another option for the way you view.
Options is yet another option for the way you use the tools. Are you still with me?
If that doesn't help the last tab is the
Help tab. Hopefully that will help.
As I say, issue 2 works slightly differently from issue 1; go to `Flip To` and press `Overview` this will take you to pages of thumbnails. If you click on the body of the thumbnail it will explode onto your screen as a full page spread. Click again and you go right back to the Overview. Another way to navigate is clicking on the white header bar, which turns black. This will take you right to the desired page where you can either go forwards or backwards to your hearts content.
Turning pages is done by either clicking directly on the page or by going to the bottom right hand corner and waiting for a small hand to appear. This will allow you to turn the pages like on a non-virtual magazine.
As for the video there are two ways you can use them. If you left click the small icon in the bottom left hand corner you can do all the normal things, pause, fast forward etc. If, on the other hand, you right click on the picture you have the option to enlarge to full screen. This does no favours for the really grainy clips but things will change. I already have a new camera and once I have learned how to use it you may well be enthralled by the quality. Here's hoping.
Have fun folks.
Any really tough questions can be answered by emailing me or Professor Stephen Hawking. He's a clever chap!
Are you wondering what that Chopper Spirit is? Do you wonder if you have it?
If you have ever found something that is manufactured to be lacking in your opinion.
If you have ever attempted to make something better than it was when it came into your possession.
If you have wanted to create your own environment the way you want it.
Then you have that Chopper Spirit. Even if you couldn’t do it justice yourself and used your time to make the money to pay someone else to do the work.
We all know the raison d’etre of the chopper and although the basic concept of the chop itself fades into multiple grey areas that become general customising the overall spirit remains a desire or an appreciation for something different. Maybe you have only changed your mirrors. The fact is you didn’t blindly accept what you had. You took it and added your interpretation. That is the Chopper Spirit.
